Hello. I am a consumer of Jennifer's Original Rice Bread, and shop regularly at Sick Kids Specialty Food Shop. You both provide a wonderful service to the gluten free population of Toronto, and I have a small request as one of your consumers. I would hope that you could take a few minutes to read through this letter.
Getting straight to the point - Jennifer's Original Rice Bread is definitely one of the better gluten free breads on the market. Besides the true test of tasting the delicious bread, one just needs to read the reviews on the various gluten free forums (that's how I heard about it) to see how popular it is.
A year ago or so ago, I spoke with the owner of the bakery (sorry, I never got your name), and it was mentioned that besides the bakery, the bread is only sold at the Big Carrot. My request is that I would hope that you might consider selling at the Specialty Food shop at Sick Kids.
Besides feeling that a lot of people don't know about this bread, and a lot of the clientele at Sick Kids would probably not shop at the Big Carrot, there is another reason that I would like to mention that makes this an important bread to carry at Sick Kids. Jennifer's Bread does not contain corn, cornstarch, or potato starch. Which is wonderful for people allergic to one or both of these products. I notice a lot of gluten free products contain one or both of the two ingredients.
Thanks for your time, and I hope that you might contact each other - and I really hope that Jennifer's will make it into the Sick Kids Shop. So many people rely on this shop for their specialty foods, and I think Jennifer's Bread would be a welcome addition to any home. Its hard enough (esp. if you're a child) to always eat the gluten free foods - but Jennifer's is similar in texture and flavour to gluten bread, one does not have to be on a gluten free diet to enjoy it. (I think mom's would be happy to find a product that everyone could eat!). Thanks again for your time.
